UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep sorrow over death of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, late Kuwaiti Emir.
"His Highness was a distiguished statesman, who contributed to the growth of understanding and cooperation in the Gulf and beyond," Guterres said in a statement.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi returned back home, after visiting Kuwait to offer his condolences on death of late Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
In a statement, El-Sisi mourned the loss of Sheikh Nawaf as a “great man who cared deeply for his country and its affairs, and who exhibited wisdom in his leadership and made significant contributions to Arab and Muslim nations."
Furthermore, Egypt declared Saturday a three-day mourning period for Kuwait's late Emir.
