UN Boss Thanks Sisi for 'Wonderful' Organization of COP-27

The United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres thanked President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi for the hospitality and 'wonderful' organization of COP-27 climate conference in Sharm El-Sheikh.

"We are struggling to confront the chaos of irreversible climate change," Antonio Guterres added, in his speech at the opening session of COP-27. 

Moreover, he noted that the world's population has risen to 8 billion, stressing that the future of humanity is in danger.

"Unfortunately, we are losing the fight for our lives, so we must choose between cooperation or perish," Guterres confirmed. 

It is worth mentioning that Egypt hosts the COP-27 summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, from November 6-18, which is considered the largest and most important summit in the world, to discuss the fate of the planet and save it from deterioration and collapse of the devastating repercussions of climate change, and contribute to saving humanity.

COP27 is witnessing wide international participation from different parts of the world, with the participation of more than 120 state leaders, and representatives from about 197 countries, and nearly 40,000 participants from around the world, as well as dozens of international and regional organizations, to take part in the annual negotiations on climate change.

The summit also enjoys extensive global media coverage with the presence of more than 3,000 media professionals who cover the activities of the summit in different languages.
