On Tuesday, British Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson stressed that his country will continue to intensify its efforts to help Ukraine defend itself from “Russian aggression”.
“President Zeleneskyy updated me today on the humanitarian situation in Mariupol, as well as the current negotiations with Russia,” Johnson tweeted.
“The UK will continue to step up our efforts to help Ukraine defend itself from aggression,” he added.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that French President Emmanuel Macron will speak over the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday to discuss the evacuation of residents from Mariupol.
On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that negotiations continue with the Russian side to end the war, which started on February 24.
According to Ukrainian media, Zelenskyy said, “A new round of talks is expected in Turkey,”
“I am amazed at how many people have taken to the streets for Ukraine, and I will continue to communicate with other parliaments and hold new meetings next week,” he added.
He said “We will impose new sanctions on Russia, stressing that the Ukrainian armed forces will continue to defend our land.”
