Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he discussed with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof the enhancement of his country's military air defense and new systems in this regard.
In remarks reported by the Ukrainian presidency on Monday, Zelensky said, "During our negotiations with the Dutch Prime Minister, we talked specifically about strengthening air defense, about new air defense systems, about the missiles for these systems, about F-16s for Ukraine, and all the necessary weapons for our defense against the Russians."
He also mentioned that he discussed with Schoof support for his country with shells for soldiers, other military equipment, and protecting lives throughout the country, including the protection of the energy sector.
Zelensky further explained, "Today, we have a new aid package from the Netherlands. I thank you for that. We also talked about how the Netherlands has become a sponsor of Zaporizhzhia, which includes infrastructure, protection of normal life, and humanitarian issues. This is something that will definitely help Ukraine."
He praised the Dutch efforts, saying, "We appreciate all the support from the people of the Netherlands, Prime Minister Schoof personally, and all political and public figures in the Netherlands."
