Alexei Aristovich, an advisor to the Ukrainian president, said that his country has not seen any new Russian incursion in Ukrainian territory, during the past 24 hours.
On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that his country is "close to victory" in the war against Russia, stressing that "Ukraine has reached a strategic turning point in the war," according to what the Ukrainian Defense Ministry published.
Zelensky added in a video broadcast today, Friday: "Russia is recruiting "mercenaries" in the war against Ukraine," calling on the European Union (EU) to take stronger measures and sanctions against Russia.
However, the Kremlin, headquarter of the Russian presidency, announced today, Friday, that it is not excluded the possibility of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Vlodomir Zelensky, Russia Today reported.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday: "No one is ruling out the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Zelensky. Yes, this meeting is conceptually possible."
At the same time, Peskov stressed the need for ministers and delegations from both sides to complete their work first. "
He added that the two presidents do not meet for the sake of meeting and talking, but for the sake of achieving a result."
The Russian presidential spokesman revealed that positions of the Russian side in this regard are clear and known, and the Ukrainian negotiators have been informed of them, stressing that Moscow is waiting for Kyiv's response.
