Ukraine’s Prime Minister (PM) Denis Shmyal is visiting the United States of America (USA), where he will meet with a number of US officials, in conjunction with the Spring Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that she will meet with Shmyhal in a closed meeting during his visit to Congress, with the participation of a number of lawmakers from the Democratic and Republican parties.
This comes as US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced that he spoke with his Chinese counterpart Wei Fengyi in a phone call, the first between them since Austin took office.
The Chinese Minister of Defense tweeted that the two sides discussed defense relations between the two countries and issues related to regional security, in addition to the "unjustified Russian invasion of Ukraine."
