Ukraine’s Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov announced, on Tuesday, he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

In a post on Facebook, Reznikov noted that he is staying in self-isolation and will continue to work remotely.

“I feel good, self-isolating, but working,” he said.

The minister has helped lead Ukraine’s efforts to secure military aid and support from NATO member states after Russia massed tens of thousands of troops near Ukraine’s borders in recent weeks.

French President Emmanuel Macron met with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Tuesday to discuss the country's crisis with Russia.

Macron told journalists in Kyiv that his trip to Moscow had delivered concrete solutions for stability on the European continent, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin had said he "would not be the cause of an escalation."
