The Ukrainian military announced Sunday that it carried out a drone strike on an oil facility in Russia’s Krasnodar region, igniting a fire at the site.

In an official statement, Ukrainian forces said the attack targeted the Taman export port near the village of Volna, confirming that a fire had broken out at the facility.

The assault marks the latest in a series of Ukrainian operations aimed at Russian energy infrastructure, framed as retaliation for attacks on Ukraine’s own power grid and an effort to reduce revenues that fund Moscow’s military operations.

Veniamin Kondratiev, governor of Krasnodar, reported that the strike damaged a fuel storage depot, warehouses, and associated port facilities. Two individuals sustained injuries, and more than 100 firefighting personnel were deployed to control multiple fires.

Kondratiev also noted minor damage to a residential property in Sochi, a Black Sea city largely spared from the broader attacks affecting southern Russian towns.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that 88 Ukrainian drones were intercepted over southern and border regions early Sunday.

The Taman facility, situated near Crimea, is a critical node in Russia’s energy export network. Ukraine’s repeated strikes on such infrastructure aim to disrupt logistics and exert pressure on the Kremlin amid ongoing hostilities.
