Ukraine has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia, warning that any actions violating international law would lead to the destabilization of the region.
The spokesman for Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhii Tykhyi, stated, "We warn all countries against violating the rules and principles of international law, as such actions set dangerous precedents with dire consequences for peace and stability in the Horn of Africa, the African continent, and the entire world," according to a statement distributed by Ukrainian Embassy in Cairo on Tuesday.
Furthermore, Tykhyi explained that Ukraine calls on all parties to resolve their long-standing disputes through diplomatic channels.
Moreover, the spokesman noted that Ukraine and Somalia established diplomatic relations this year based on mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
