More than 400 people have gone missing in Hostomel, Ukraine throughout 35 days of occupation, according to the head of the Hostomel military administration, Taras Dumenko.
On Tuesday evening, Dumenko told Ukrayinska Pravda newspaper that the authorities are currently checking the basements in the area.
Several Hostomel residents were found in Bucha, a city in Kyiv’s oblast. The discovery of the residents’ bodies sparked international outrage at the beginning of the week.
Hostomel is a city in Kyiv Oblast, northwest of the capital city, and near an airport. The city has been intensively contested since the beginning of the Russian military operation. Most of its 16,000 population fled.
A few days ago, Ukraine forces retook Hostomel, along with other Kyiv oblasts of Bucha and Irpin.
