Ukraine announced the launch of the official website to receive donations to the country in cryptocurrency amidst Russian operation.
According to the website, the platform currently accepts cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. It explains the donations are converted into the US dollar through a centralized exchange and sent to the National Bank of Ukraine.
The site shows nearly $49 million have been raised so far. It says the funds will be used to help the country's armed forces as well as civilians in dire need of humanitarian aid.
Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who also serves as minister of digital transformation, tweeted, "The official website where users from around the world can make crypto donations to Ukraine goes live."
Earlier, the spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov confirmed that “the Russian armed forces, in response to the bombing of Donetsk with missiles, will bomb the facilities of Ukrainian military industries, according to Russia Today.
A spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense called on citizens of Ukraine working in these institutions, as well as residents of neighboring residential buildings to leave the potentially dangerous areas near the facilities and facilities of military industries.
"Our armed forces managed to shoot down two Ukrainian unmanned aircraft, one of the type (Turkish-made PT Bayraktar, as well as the destruction of 86 military sites, where our long-range and high-precision weapons hit the military infrastructure of Ukraine, disrupting communications and switching centers in the towns of Fedorovka, Vinarovka and Antopol."
"We destroyed a large warehouse of ammunition for Ukrainian air defenses at the Antonov plant near Kyiv," the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman added, noting that the Russian armed forces will take immediate measures to disable the Ukrainian defense systems that produce weapons used by nationalists in response to the bombing of Donetsk.
