Ukraine is expected to repay nearly $1.5 billion to the International Monetary Fund by the end of 2026 as it continues servicing its existing debt obligations, according to calculations based on data from the National Bank of Ukraine.
Since the start of the year, Ukraine has already transferred around $1 billion to the IMF, with monthly repayments exceeding $200 million.
The country's total debt to the IMF currently stands at more than $10 billion. Earlier this year, the IMF approved a new four-year financial support program worth $8.1 billion to help stabilize Ukraine's economy amid ongoing challenges.
The latest funding package includes economic reform requirements, with tax increases among the conditions linked to future disbursements under the program.
