Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, in a phone call, to hold a summit on February 3, to discuss plans for more financial and military support.
"The parties discussed expected results of the next Ukraine-EU summit to be held on February 3 in Kyiv and agreed to intensify preparatory work," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's office said in a statement.
Last Sunday, President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that 2022 represented a special significance for Europeans, as it revealed the strength and union of European countries together in the face of difficulties, stressing the continuation of strong European solidarity with the Ukrainian side.
"As we celebrate Christmas, let us remember this momentous year. A year when we overcame hardship, an unprecedented energy crisis and showed solidarity with Ukrainians defending their country. A year which revealed the soul and the strength of Europe," European Commission President tweeted.
"Merry Christmas to all," she added.
