Secretary of Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said on Tuesday, that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will hold an emergency meeting after the destruction of Nova Kakhovka dam in Kherson.
"The President of Ukraine has decided to convene an emergency meeting of the National Security and Defense Council because of Kakhovka Dam explosion," Danilov said, according to 'Ukrinform' news agency.
For his part, Ukrainian Foreign Minister (FM) Dmytro Kuleba condemned the destruction of Nova Kakhovka dam in Kherson city.
"Russia destroyed the dam, which resulted in the largest technological disaster in Europe in decades, and endangered the lives of thousands of civilians. This is a heinous war crime," he said.
The Russian forces had blew up the Kakhovka Dam, where the water reaches critical levels within five hours.
The local residents are being evacuated from potential flood areas, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of regional military administration in Kherson.
The Ukrainian army blamed Russia for destroying the dam.
