The Ukrainian army announced that 63 Russian soldiers were killed and a number of military units were destroyed, during the past 24 hours.
"Russian MiG-8 helicopters launched five strikes on Ukrainian sites, but the Ukrainian army thwarted three of them," Ukraine's Southern Army Operational Command said in a statement on Saturday.
"Over the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, two air-to-air missiles of the Russian forces were shot down by a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter plane," he added.
"As a result, Russia lost 63 soldiers and 19 units of military equipment, including three modern T-72 main battle tanks, five other armored vehicles, two trucks, as well as a self-propelled gun, a warplane and six helicopters," the statement read.
Moreover, he pointed out that 29,750 Russian soldiers have been killed, since the start of Russian military operations on February 24.
