UK to Roll Out Oxford Vaccine Against Covid-19 in Days

UK announced Covid-19 vaccine will be rolled out across all states starting January 4, as U.K. residents have already started receiving Pfizer’s vaccination, among more than 600,000 who received the vaccine between Dec. 8-20.

The government hopes to give the first dose of either the Oxford vaccine, which has been licensed to pharmaceuticals company AstraZeneca, or the Pfizer vaccine to 2 million people over the next two weeks.

On other hand, Italy, Germany, France and the Nordics started inoculating their citizens as part of a massive Europe-wide vaccination campaign, as a growing list of countries identified their first cases of the coronavirus mutation widespread in the U.K.

Also, the global infections surpassed 80 million. U.S. cases rose by more than 226,000 after numbers were skewed by the Christmas Day holiday.

Noteworthy,Covid-19 vaccinations campaigns, in all 27 European Union countries, began, Sunday, as first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived in EU countries, including hard-hit Italy, Spain and France.

Most countries have received just under 10,000 doses in their first shipments, according to AP. Some of these countries include Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Bulgaria.
