The United Kingdom will deploy Eurofighter Typhoon jets to Poland as part of NATO’s Operation Eastern Sentinel, launched in response to the recent drone incident on Polish territory.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that additional British air forces will be stationed in Poland, with flights over Polish airspace expected to begin within days.

The deployment follows high-level discussions between NATO leaders and the Polish government on strengthening regional security.

The British Ministry of Defense stated that the Eurofighter Typhoons will operate alongside German and French aircraft, which are also scheduled to conduct patrols over Poland as part of the NATO mission.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte announced the start of Operation Eastern Sentinel after drones were downed over Poland, which Warsaw identified as Russian. The initiative aims to strengthen the alliance’s eastern defenses amid heightened security concerns stemming from the war in Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry denied launching drones toward Poland, stressing that the equipment used by Russian forces in Ukraine does not have the range to reach Polish territory.

The deployment highlights NATO’s continued efforts to deter threats and safeguard the security of its eastern members.
