UK announced on Friday new procedures for travelers from Egypt as the government recognized Egyptian vaccination certificates.

British Ambassador to Egypt Gareth Bayley stated on Twitter that Egyptian vaccination certificates are now recognized in Britain for those wishing to travel from Egypt.

“We are really looking forward to welcome many more British travellers to Egypt following the recent decision to remove Egypt of the UK’s Red List, ”Bayley said. “But today, I am delighted to inform our Egyptian friends we will now recognize Egypt’s vaccination certificates if you are fully vaccinated.”

Bayley added that from next Monday, October 11, you will no longer have to self-isolate or quarantine when arriving to the UK from Egypt, nor you will have to take a PCR test before leaving the country.

However, he asserted that you need to have a complete course of either the Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson vaccines at least 14 days before arriving.

“You will still have to complete the passenger locator form 48 hours before your flight departure, and book a day two a PCR test to be taken after the arrival," he emphasized.

The ambassador said you can find all the information and details needed on gov.uk website as well as the social media channels.

On September 17, the British government announced removing Egypt from the red list related to travel to and from Britain.
