The United Kingdom has signed a £2.26 billion ($2.85 billion) loan agreement with Ukraine to strengthen Kyiv's defense capabilities.
London described the move as a demonstration of its unwavering support for the Ukrainian people.
The agreement was signed virtually by UK Finance Minister Rachel Reeves and her Ukrainian counterpart, Serhiy Marchenko, while Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with President Volodymyr Zelensky in London.
According to the terms of the deal, the loan will be repaid using surplus funds from frozen Russian sovereign assets.
This initiative aligns with broader international efforts to provide financial aid to Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.
