On Monday, UK Prime Minister (PM) Keir Starmer held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a statement from the British government.
The talks took place ahead of the upcoming U.S.-Ukraine dialogue in Saudi Arabia.
Starmer stated that British officials had engaged with Ukrainian counterparts over the weekend and reaffirmed the UK's commitment to achieving lasting peace.
The British PM expressed his hope for a positive outcome from the discussions, which could facilitate the resumption of U.S. aid and intelligence sharing.
The two leaders also discussed the economic deal previously negotiated at the White House, with Starmer welcoming the detailed talks already conducted to advance the matter.
According to the British statement, both sides agreed to remain in close contact.
