The UK's Minister of State for Development, Anneliese Dodds, has announced a grant of £17 million to support essential services and the healthcare sector in Gaza.

As reported by "Al Hurra," a US-based channel, Dodds stated that the fragile ceasefire offers a ray of hope for both Palestinians and Israelis.

During her visit to the region last December, she observed aid trucks waiting at the Gaza border, which began to enter the region following the ceasefire agreement.

Dodds further explained that the UK, through its local partners, has distributed over 200,000 food parcels across 130 locations within Gaza.

The new British aid will be channeled through United Nations organizations and partner health organizations to ensure the provision of healthcare, food, and shelter to civilians.

Dodds confirmed that with this new package, the total British aid to the occupied Palestinian territories this year would exceed £129 million.
