UK Pledges £113M to Aid Sudan Crisis

The United Kingdom has unveiled a significant aid package to assist more than one million individuals impacted by the ongoing conflict in Sudan.

The £113 million funding aims to deliver essential humanitarian assistance to those in dire need.

This newly announced package doubles the UK’s commitment to aid for Sudan and the surrounding region in 2024.

It is expected to support over 600,000 people within Sudan and an additional 700,000 who have sought refuge in neighboring countries, including Chad and South Sudan.

The funds will be directed toward United Nations partners and non-governmental organizations, enabling the provision of critical resources such as food, clean water, shelter, and medical aid.

These efforts are intended to address the worsening humanitarian crisis triggered by the protracted conflict in Sudan, which has displaced millions and strained neighboring nations’ capacities to support fleeing refugees.
