The British Parliament's commissioner for standards opened an investigation into Prime Minister Rishi Sunak , over a potential breach of rules relating to the declaration of interests, understood to be related to his links to a childcare firm in which his wife is an investor
Sunak faced questions last month after it emerged that his wife's part-owned child care company would benefit from policy changes to the budget.
The Prime Minister did not mention his wife's interest when he spoke about childcare fees in the presence of the Liaison Committee following the disclosure of the budget.
Asked if he had anything to announce at the time by Labor MP Catherine McKinnell, he said: "No, all my disclosures are made in the normal way".
