British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly arrived in Japan Sunday to attend the Group of Seven foreign ministers' meeting before a four-day visit to Pacific islands and New Zealand.
During the three-day G7 conference in Karuizawa, Japan, Cleverly will meet with G7 foreign ministers (FMs), including Japanese Foreign Minister (FM) Yoshimasa Hayashi, to discuss closer ties on security and defence.
Moreover, Cleverley will discuss the opportunities presented by the UK's recent accession to the Comprehensive and Advanced Trans-Pacific Partnership, which strengthens the UK's global trading relationship with its partners in the region and will help drive growth across the country in line with the UK government's five priorities.
UK top diplomat is also set to announce that UK will join the United States (US), Japan, and Australia as a member of the Blue Dot network, which will give quality label to infrastructure development projects.
After concluding his visit to Japan, Cleverly will travel to Papua New Guinea, the Solomon and Samoa islands and then travel to New Zealand, where he will meet New Zealand's Foreign Minister Nanaya Mahuta.
