In an unannounced visit to Kyiv, the new British Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, held discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, focusing on defense matters, according to a statement by the Ukrainian presidency.

Zelensky, in a post on his social media account, mentioned, "(I) hosted David Cameron on his first visit to Ukraine as the Foreign Secretary of the UK.”

“We had a good meeting that focused on weapons for the frontline, strengthening air defense, and protecting our people and critical infrastructure,” the president added.

It's noteworthy that David Cameron was appointed as the Foreign Secretary by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday, following the dismissal of the former Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, who was replaced by James Cleverly, the former Foreign Secretary.

With this appointment, David Cameron returns to the political forefront after his resignation in 2016 when he failed to keep Britain within the European Union.
