UK FCDO Minister Hails Evolving Partnership with Egypt

Lord Tariq Ahmad, British minister for South Asia, North Africa, the UN and the Commonwealth& Development Office (FCDO), praised longstanding strategic relations with Egypt.

Ahmed asserted that, during his visit to Egypt, he witnessed the strength of the relationship between the UK and Egypt, adding that the UK is investing in its effective partnership with Egypt. In addition, the Kingdom is working to support the growing investment, enhance bilateral trade and encourage British tourists to visit Egypt.

In the same vein, the British Minister pointed out that they will team up with Egyptian officials when the state takes over the presidency of the COP27 climate conference in Sharm El-Sheikh.

During his trip to Egypt, Lord Ahmed met with Tourism Minister Khaled El-Enany and Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayyab.

"The UK has changed our Travel Advice for Egypt, and I hope many more British citizens will visit this beautiful country in the near future," he wrote on Twitter. 

In the same vein, he hailed Al-Azhar's role in "promoting peace and respect, and religion is central to tackling the global challenges we all face."
