Britain has expressed deep concern over the recent escalation in tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, calling on both sides to take immediate steps to reduce hostilities and resume dialogue.
UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said London was "deeply concerned about the dangerous escalation" between the two neighboring countries.
She urged Afghanistan and Pakistan to move quickly toward de-escalation and to restart diplomatic engagement through mediation channels.
Cooper stressed the importance of dialogue in preventing further deterioration of the security situation, warning that continued tensions could threaten stability in the wider region.
Relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have been strained by recurring border tensions and security concerns, raising fears of a broader confrontation if diplomatic efforts fail.
