The UK has expanded its list of anti-Russian and anti-Syrian sanctions, according to a statement posted on the British government's website on Tuesday.
The statement added that 42 new points have been added to the section on sanctions against Moscow and 5 points to the section on sanctions against Syria.
The list of sanctions included, in particular, a number of Russian conservatives.
Sanctions include asset freezes and travel bans.
It is reported that after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Western countries began to impose unprecedented sanctions on Moscow.
On his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in previous statements that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy for the West, and the sanctions dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy.
Since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the West, including the United Kingdom, has been imposing sanctions against Russia, affecting different economic sectors, companies, and inpiduals.
In the same vein, the European Union (EU) mentioned it will ban all imports of oil brought in by sea from Russia by the end of 2022.
The EU is less keen to impose sanctions on Russian gas because it relies on it for about 40% of its gas needs.
In March, it said it would reduce gas imports by two-thirds within a year, but has not agreed on further action.
