UK Denounces N. Korea's Repeated Violations of UNSC Resolutions

The Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom (UK) to the United Nations (UN), Barbara Woodward, condemned on Monday, North Korea's repeated violations of UN Security Council resolutions regarding its missile and nuclear programs that threaten international peace and security.

"Returning to the dialogue table remains the only way to resolve insecurity on the Korean Peninsula," Woodward said, in her speech during the UN Security Council session.

Moreover, she stressed that UK continues to call on Pyongyang to stop its illegal activity and participate meaningfully in offers of dialogue from the United States (US) and South Korea.

Furthermore, the British representative stressed that "diplomacy remains the only option for North Korea."

In addition, he called on North Korea to invest in food and medicine for its people, instead of investing in illegal weapons programs, as well as facilitating access for United Nations delegations and allowing aid to flow freely to the country.
