The United Kingdom is considering sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East as tensions in the region continue to rise, according to statements from US President Donald Trump.

Trump said the UK, once one of Washington’s closest allies, has begun seriously discussing deploying carriers to the region but suggested the move came too late.

In a message posted on the social platform Truth Social, Trump criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, arguing that additional allied involvement is unnecessary after the United States has already achieved major military successes.

Trump also said history would remember countries that delayed offering military support, emphasizing that early action in international conflicts is critical to achieving decisive outcomes.

Meanwhile, the UK Ministry of Defense confirmed that US forces have begun using British military bases for what it described as limited defensive operations aimed at preventing Iran from launching missiles in the region.

Reports indicate that London is preparing for the possible deployment of the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales to the Middle East.

The ministry added that Royal Air Force fighter jets, including Eurofighter Typhoon and F-35 Lightning II aircraft, are continuing operations in the region to protect British interests and allied forces.

A Merlin helicopter is also being deployed to provide additional aerial surveillance and strengthen defensive capabilities.
