Dr. Rachel Kyte, UK’s Special Representative for Climate, arrives in Cairo today to strengthen the United Kingdom's partnership with Egypt in the fields of climate action, clean energy, and green growth.
This visit comes ahead of the ministerial launch of the UK-Egypt Green Growth Partnership in May, and prior to a visit by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer aimed at elevating bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.
According to a statement issued by the British Embassy this afternoon, Dr. Kyte will meet during her visit with Egyptian ministers, senior officials, business leaders, and investors to explore opportunities for deepening UK-Egypt ties in climate and energy.
The meetings aim to unlock the full potential of close cooperation in green investment and sustainable development.
She will highlight successful UK-funded initiatives in climate, energy, and nature, providing guidance to local partners and entrepreneurs on how to scale up their projects and maximize their impact.
This visit underscores the UK's commitment to remaining an open and active partner in multilateral forums.
It also affirms the UK's readiness to support Egypt's regional efforts in areas where priorities closely align, particularly in the field of green economic growth.
