The United Kingdom has called for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council to discuss the escalating conflict in Sudan, according to Alqahera News.
In a separate statement, the UK Minister for the Middle East affirmed that Britain will continue its efforts to end the conflict, stressing London’s commitment to supporting diplomatic solutions and humanitarian assistance for civilians affected by the fighting.
The move comes amid growing international concern over the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in Sudan, where clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have caused widespread displacement, civilian casualties, and severe shortages of food and medical supplies.
Britain’s call for the Security Council meeting is part of ongoing international efforts to pressure both warring parties to cease hostilities and return to negotiations aimed at restoring stability in the war-torn country.
