British Defense Secretary John Healey announced a new support package for Ukraine today, which includes artillery rifles, a quarter of a million rounds of ammunition, and about 100 Brimstone missiles.
This announcement was made during his visit to the Ukrainian city of Odessa less than 48 hours after his appointment.
According to a statement issued by the British Ministry of Defense, Healey met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, pledging to accelerate the British military support promised last April, which is expected to arrive within the next three months.
During the visit, which coincided with Ukraine's annual Navy Day celebrations, Healey emphasized that the UK's unwavering commitment to Ukraine will be invigorated by the new government. He stressed that despite the change of government in London, support for Ukraine remains steadfast and unwavering.
Healey added: "As the new Defense Secretary, I will ensure that British support is reinvigorated by increasing supplies of vital military aid, because our commitment to standing by the Ukrainian people is absolute, as is our determination to confront Russia."
