The United Kingdom has pledged £17 million in humanitarian aid to support thousands of civilians in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, British Minister for Development Anneliese Dodds announced on Tuesday.
She emphasized the urgent need for increased humanitarian access to Gaza, with assistance coordinated through UN agencies, including UNRWA.
According to the minister’s statement, the newly announced aid package will be allocated to critical food assistance programs and essential infrastructure projects, focusing on water and energy services in Gaza.
This commitment aligns with the UK’s broader efforts to push for a ceasefire and expand relief operations to address the pressing humanitarian crisis.
With this latest contribution, Britain’s total aid to the occupied Palestinian territories for the current fiscal year has reached £129 million.
