UK Envoy "Geoffrey Adams" lands in Egypt

CAIRO SEP18 (SEE): New British Ambassador to Egypt Geoffrey Adams arrived today to assume his new post, state news agency "MENA " reported .

The British diplomat, who served previously as the deputy head of the UK's mission in Cairo from 1998 until 2001, arrived on a British Airways flight from London.

Adams is replacing John Casson, who held the post since August 2014.

Adams previously served as the UK's ambassador to the Netherlands, Iran, and as the British consul-general in Israel.
