In remarks during a televised interview, the ambassador noted that the United Kingdom is working closely with Cairo to develop a vision for the reconstruction of Gaza, underscoring the importance of Egypt’s mediation and diplomatic engagement.
“We thank both Egypt and Qatar for their significant contributions in supporting the Palestinian cause,” Richardson said, adding that London is actively seeking to mobilize the international community to achieve de-escalation and lasting calm across the region.
The ambassador also highlighted the depth of bilateral relations, pointing out that British investments in Egypt currently amount to around £40 billion. He stressed London’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s economic growth, stability, and expanding trade ties between the two countries.
