Uganda's President Opens Kayunga Hospital as AC Finishes Rehabilitation

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni opened Kayunga Hospital which was renovated, partially re-constructed and rehabilitated by the Arab Contractors (AC) company.

CEO and Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Eng. Sayed Farouk announced that the hospital is now with a capacity of 300 beds after it was only 100 beds.

It includes a number of new facilities, like, the main building with a surface area of 5500 sq. m, which houses outpatient clinics, administrative offices, sections for laboratories, pharmacies, and blood banks.

In addition to a new building for patients' wards on a surface of 2,100 sq.m, 8 new buildings for doctors and medical staff housing in the hospital were finished as well as a building for generators and transformers.

The rehabilitation works also include new roads, planting, water, sewage, and electricity networks.

Moreover, Farouk said that the company was granted the certificate of the best contracting company in Uganda for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019.

On his part, Eng. Mohamed Tolba, Managing Director of the Ugandan AC Company added that the company is implementing a number of road projects, in addition to rehabilitating a pharmaceutical factory in the capital, Kampala.
