Uganda Name Final Squad for 2019 AFCON

Sebastien Desabre, Uganda head coach, announced on Tuesday his 23-man squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations, which is set to take place in Egypt from June 21 to 19 July.

The Cranes' squad witnessed the exclusion of some prominent players such as Ibrahim Saddam KCCA midfielder, Alexis Bbakk, who plays for Carlstad United BK, and Moses Waiswa, who plays as a striker in Vipers SC.

Desabre's men, which were pooled in group A, alongside Egypt, Zimbabwe, and DR Congo, will play their final build-up game against Ivory Coast on Saturday, 15 June before heading to Egypt to begin their campaign against DR Congo at Cairo Stadium on June 22.

Uganda Final Squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Denis Onyango (Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa), Jamal Salim (Al Hilal-Sudan).

Defenders: Nico Wakiro Wadada (Azam, Tanzania), Brian Ronald Ddungu Mukiibi (Ostersunds, Sweden), Murushid Jjuuko (Simba, Tanzania), Bevis Mugabi (Yeovil Town, England), Timothy Denis Awanyi (KCCA FC, Uganda), Isaac Muleme (FK Viktoria Zizkov, Czech Republic), Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (Unattached), Joseph Ochaya (TP Mazembe, DR Congo), Godfrey Walusimbi (Un-attached)
