Uganda has topped Africa’s coffee exports, generating $2.4 billion (8.2 trillion UGX) in revenues for the year ending October 2025.
The country exported 8.4 million 60-kg bags, surpassing Ethiopia’s 7.82 million bags, marking a historic high.
The growth was driven mainly by Arabica exports, which more than doubled due to higher quality and global demand, while Robusta exports grew 31% in volume and 19% in value.
Europe remains the top market, with Italy importing 26.22% of total shipments, followed by Germany, Algeria, India, and Switzerland. African markets accounted for 16% of exports, led by Algeria, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, Kenya, and Egypt.
The report highlights investment opportunities in local processing, roasting, and packaging to increase value-added revenues.
Uganda’s rapid growth in exports and product diversification is strengthening its role as a major player in the global coffee market.
