Uber announced on Tuesday that it will acquire Drizly delivery service in a $ 1.1 billion deal as the U.S. giant continues to engage in food and other delivery services.

The deal is to integrate Drizly's market for alcoholic beverage into the existing Uber Eats app, giving the ride-sharing company's customers the service to order both food and beverage deliveries with one bottom.

Drizly is an efficient online delivery site for current local liquor stores, which is providing services to more than 1,400 neighborhoods across the states.

Last year, Uber sold its autonomous car and flying taxi pisions as it sought greater profits, selling off the less profitable parts of its business. Uber recently started moving to its on-demand grocery delivery service, starting in Canada and Latin America, expanding Uber Health to add prescription delivery.

The moves came on the heels of Uber's failed bid to buy GrubHub last year, along with the successful acquisition of Postmates over the summer for $ 2.65 billion.

Uber is expected to use the current Drizly app to prevent loosing any old customers.
