Prime Minister of Iraq Mohammed Al-Sudani welcomed a delegation of important businessmen and investors from the United Arab Emirates. The delegation was led by Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The UAE and Iraq have strong and friendly ties, and the Prime Minister emphasised that by having them in Baghdad. Al-Sudani expressed a shared desire to strengthen existing relationships and look into new opportunities for collaborative economic action.

Al-Sudani continued by saying that effective investments in Iraq's petrochemical and energy sectors are indications of the nation's capacity for development and prosperity.

Al-Sudani discussed ways to improve political, diplomatic, economic, and commercial connections with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during his visit to Abu Dhabi in February 2023.

The two countries will also try to enhance levels of trade exchange and build on the tremendous growth observed in trade between Iraq and the UAE over the previous years, as bilateral non-oil trade reached around $17.5 billion in 2022.
