The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced its intention to provide Ukraine with 2,500 electric generators to supply homes with energy during power outages.
The aid includes 2,500 household generators, each with a capacity of between 3.5 and 8 kilowatts. Today, the Emirates will transport approximately 1,200 household generators to the Polish capital, Warsaw, and will move the remaining generators by January.
"The United Arab Emirates will provide support to the civilian population in Ukraine, who are suffering from the repercussions of the crisis, by providing 2,500 home electric generators to cope with the power outages,” the ministry said in a statement.
As the ministry explained, sending the generators comes within the framework of the amount previously allocated by the UAE to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine at a value of $100 million.
In response to the UN's Urgent Appeal on Ukraine and the regional refugee response in Kyiv, the UAE has taken the lead since the beginning of the crisis to alleviate the suffering of those affected, flying eight aircraft carrying 360 tons of food supplies, medical aid, and medical aid.
