On Friday, the Port of Beirut welcomed a vessel from the United Arab Emirates, carrying 2,000 tons of urgent relief supplies for the people of Lebanon as part of the "UAE Stands with You, Lebanon" campaign, initiated in early October.

This aid shipment is part of the UAE's continuous humanitarian support for the Lebanese people during the current crisis, under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, followed up by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, and supervised by Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Court for Developmental and Martyrs’ Family Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Development Affairs and a member of the International Human Affairs Council, stated, "This new aid shipment reflects the UAE's commitment to supporting the Lebanese people in these challenging times. The ship carried 1,000 tons of food supplies and 1,000 tons of various shelter necessities, bringing the total aid dispatched to date to 2,610 tons."

He added, "These efforts demonstrate the leadership's profound concern to meet the needs of the Lebanese people, embodying the lofty humanitarian values and brotherhood that promote mutual support, cooperation, and solidarity with our Lebanese brethren."

In support of the Lebanese people under current hardships, and by the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE launched the "UAE Stands with You, Lebanon" campaign on October 4, sending 14 aircraft, some in cooperation with WHO, UNICEF, UNHCR, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, along with a campaign that collected 1,300 tons of relief supplies, involving 24 Emirati donor organizations and thousands of volunteers, in a true expression of the UAE's approach to solidarity and humanitarian cooperation.
