The United Arab Emirates has dispatched another humanitarian aid plane to Sri Lanka as part of an ongoing air bridge supporting communities affected by Cyclone Ditva.

According to a statement reported by the Emirates News Agency WAM, this is the seventh aircraft sent to deliver humanitarian supplies to the cyclone-stricken nation. The shipment includes food parcels and materials for rebuilding damaged homes.

WAM noted that the total volume of UAE humanitarian assistance delivered to Sri Lanka has now reached 89 tons. In addition, an Emirati search and rescue team has been deployed to support emergency operations in areas devastated by flooding.

The UAE rescue team has recovered 18 bodies in its designated work zone and has provided on-site medical aid to eight people affected by the disaster.

Cyclones Ditva and Sinyar have battered Sri Lanka and several Southeast Asian countries, triggering landslides and severe flooding.

According to the latest figures from Sri Lanka’s Disaster Management Centre, the death toll has climbed to 607 people, while 214 remain missing. More than 1.1 million residents have been affected by the extreme weather.
