The United Arab Emirates has dispatched an aircraft carrying 3 tons of vaccines against Dengue and Influenza to Benghazi International Airport to transport them to the city of Derna in coordination with Libyan health authorities.

The UAE Red Crescent delegation announced that the medical shipment includes 90,000 doses of Dengue and Influenza vaccines, sufficient for 30,000 people.

The team is collaborating with the relevant Libyan authorities to ensure the necessary refrigeration, as the vaccines must be stored and distributed at a temperature of 8°C, to safeguard them for the city's residents.

The purpose of this medical aid shipment is to boost community immunity and provide greater protection for the elderly and those with chronic illnesses.

It is part of the UAE's efforts to stand by its Libyan brothers and sisters, driven by its humanitarian role and in response to the recovery phase from the aftermath of Hurricane Daniel, which struck on September 10th, causing casualties and missing persons.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs, stated that this new shipment complements the UAE's humanitarian and relief role, demonstrating its solidarity with the Libyan people in their time of need following the destructive Hurricane Daniel.

He added that these medical aids will contribute to enhancing preventive and precautionary measures, as well as assisting the affected families of victims and missing persons.

The United Arab Emirates has been keen to fulfill its humanitarian responsibilities towards its Libyan brothers and sisters since Hurricane Daniel struck the Libyan city of Derna.

Participating in the relief campaign are the UAE Red Crescent Authority, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Foundation.
