UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed today the latest security developments in the region.
Moreover, they focused on the current military escalation and its repercussions on regional and global peace and security, as well as its serious impact on international maritime safety and the global economy.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the discussions took place during a meeting on Saturday as the Ukrainian President conducts a working visit to the UAE.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reiterated his condemnation of the ongoing Iranian aggression against the UAE and other regional states, which targets civilians and civilian infrastructure.
He characterized these actions as a violation of state sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter, undermining both regional and international security.
Bin Zayed emphasized that the UAE handles such crises with wisdom and patience, driven by its commitment to shielding the region from further tension.
However, he stressed that the UAE will continue to defend its sovereignty with strength and resolve against terrorist attacks on civilians.
Moreover, he added that the state is fully prepared to confront all threats and maintains its full right to self-defense as guaranteed by international law.
The two leaders also explored various aspects of cooperation and joint action, focusing on opportunities to enhance their relationship within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership between the two nations.
In this context, UAE President reaffirmed the UAE's support for all efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable peace in Ukraine.

Zelensky arrived in the UAE earlier today and was received at the airport by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, along with several high-ranking Emirati officials.
