UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan said on Thursday that the peace agreement with Israel will bring progress, and prosperity to the region, according to Sputnik news agency.
It is worth mentioning that, the United Arab Emirates’ state-owned flydubai airline launched earlier on Thursday its first direct flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
This is considered the 1st scheduled commercial service between the two cities, following the normalization deal signed by the UAE and Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu will attend the welcoming ceremony for the first commercial flight that will arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport, according to his spokesman Ofir Gendelman.
It is worth mentioning that, The UAE and fellow Gulf state Bahrain in September became the first Arab states in a quarter of a century to sign agreements to establish formal ties with Israel, forged largely through shared fears of Iran.
