The United Arab Emirates has announced a voluntary financial contribution of $1.5 million to support the activities and programs of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, reinforcing its engagement with the global human rights framework.

The contribution reflects the UAE’s ongoing cooperation with the United Nations human rights system and its support for the mandate of the High Commissioner to promote and protect human rights worldwide. The funding will be directed towards a wide range of programmes aligned with the office’s core responsibilities, including humanitarian work and capacity-building initiatives.

According to the announcement, the financial support will contribute to efforts aimed at advancing the rights of children, older people, women and persons with disabilities, while also strengthening international human rights mechanisms. It will further assist the provision of technical support and cooperation to UN member states.

The UAE’s donation underscores its commitment to constructive international cooperation and to supporting multilateral initiatives designed to enhance human rights protections and deepen global collaboration in this field.
