Media outlets in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported that a Dubai-based company, in cooperation with an Austrian company, has launched a device that eliminates all viruses and germs in the air and on the surfaces of closed rooms, including the Coronavirus.

Al-Bayan, an Emirati daily newspaper, explained that the device was named  "Ozonos", works on an innovative technology that was patented, and that works to purify the atmosphere and surfaces through ozone molecules, in the same way that the ozone layer protects the earth's atmosphere.

The paper described the device, "Ozonos" as the first device of its kind, and most importantly, "it has proven to be very effective in eliminating the Coronavirus in particular."

The newspaper quoted Tommy Sebastian, CEO of Micro Advance Computers, as saying: "We are pleased to present to the UAE community this advanced device as the first country in the Middle East to be distributed in its markets."

Sebastian pointed out in a related context that "the legislation, laws, and precautions taken by the UAE have already succeeded in facing the spread of the COVID- 19 pandemic."

On the other hand, the UAE  will resume issuing visas to foreign visitors to all seven of its regions as of Thursday (Sept 24) after a six-month suspension imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic, state media reported.

Dubai, the region's tourism and business hub and one of the seven emirates that make up the UAE, had already lifted its own visa ban in July.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship said in a statement carried in state media that the decision was taken as part of the easing of COVID-19 restrictions in the Gulf state as well as efforts to support economic recovery plans.

Neighboring Oman said on Thursday it would resume scheduled international flights on Oct 1 with strict measures to protect the country and aviation staff from the virus.
