The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday evening that its national air defense systems are actively engaging with a series of missile and drone attacks originating from Iran.

In an official statement, the Ministry confirmed that its air defense units are successfully tracking and intercepting multiple aerial threats aimed at UAE territory. The defense forces have been placed on high alert as they work to neutralize incoming projectiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.

This latest escalation comes amid a period of heightened regional instability. Earlier on Wednesday, reports indicated significant military movements in the Gulf, including Israeli strikes on Iranian gas facilities in Bushehr and retaliatory threats from Tehran.

The UAE authorities have raised their readiness levels to the maximum to deal with any potential secondary threats. While the Ministry has confirmed the interceptions, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage on the ground.

The international community is watching the situation closely as tensions in the Middle East reach a critical boiling point. Egypt and other Gulf neighbors have already expressed their condemnation of the attacks, reaffirming their support for the security and sovereignty of the UAE.
